The Furious Theatre re-emerges at [Inside] the Ford, after losing its Pasadena Playhouse home a year ago. The vehicle is Matt Pelfrey’s ambitious No Good Deed, which mixes the graphic novel visions of Ben Matsuya into theatrical storytelling, in a tale that was partially inspired by the story of Richard Jewell — the security guard who was lionized, then demonized, then exonerated for his actions at the Atlanta Olympics.  READ MORE

A six-weekend run for a dance production in a small LA theater? That’s what casebolt and smith, AKA Liz Casebolt and Joel Smith, are attempting with O(h) at Actors Company Theatre. Adam Silver began producing theater at the age of six, and he continues at the age of 25 with the LA premiere of Adam Szymkowicz’ Nerve, staged by fellow ex-Chicagoan Michael Matthews at El Centro Theatre. Silver also appears in one of the two roles, as a New Yorker meeting his online dating prospect in a bar. He hopes the play will be a great match for theatergoers of his own generation. READ MORE

Julian Acosta first read Short Eyes as an undergraduate, directing a scene from it in class, but he had to recruit staff members to act in it because his fellow students refused to tackle the roles of an imprisoned sex offender and the harder-core criminals around him. Adams) who goes through the nine circles of hell within the military bureaucracy when he’s accused of crimes after his return to the US.
