News by LA Stage Alliance  |  July 28, 2011

Culver City Performing Arts Grants Program is accepting applications for 2012. They’re currently being distributed electronically through e-mail and are available by clicking here. The deadline for submission is September 7.

Performances may be presented by non-profit performing arts organizations in the disciplines of children’s theater, dance, music or concert, musical theater or opera, or theater performance. A workshop to assist organizations with the completion of the application will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, August 10, in the Dan Patacchia Room at Culver City City Hall, 9770 Culver Boulevard in Culver City.

The Performing Arts Grant Program supports performances that occur between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012. Performances must be available to the general public in a building/facility wholly or partially located in Culver City or controlled/owned by the City of Culver City and/or the Culver City Redevelopment Agency. Funding may be used only for direct expenses related to the performance in Culver City.  Additionally, applicant organizations must qualify as tax-exempt as defined by the IRS at the time of application.

The amount for grant funding available is determined by a formula relating to the total deposits made into the Art Fund each fiscal year. In addition, the program is  supported by a contribution from Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Please contact Ms. Jeremy Green at e-mail or call 310-253-5764 for questions about the application or to RSVP for the Aug. 10 workshop.  For a list of potential venues, please click here.
