On Saturday Oct. 17 at 8pm and Sunday Oct. 18 at 3pm a collection of distinguished musicians and dance companies will present Semblanza Latinoamericana, a celebration of Latin American culture through music and dance. The performance is produced by Tierra Blanca Arts Center and will take place at Los Angeles Theatre Center (LATC). General admission is $20 and $15 for students.
Also premiering at LATC is De la Locura a la Esperanza: From Madness to Hope, a theatre-dance-music performance about the 1980-1992 Salvadoran Civil War. It’ll be presented in Spanish with English subtitles along with accompanying exhibits. Dates include Friday-Sunday, Oct. 23-25, at 8pm, Friday Oct. 30 at 8pm, Saturday Oct. 31 at 6pm, and Sunday Nov. 1 at 3pm. General admission is $20; student and senior tickets are $15.
