The REDCAT (the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater) welcomes back to its theater The California E.A.R. Unit performing a one-night engagement of world premieres entitled The Lindas.
The Los Angeles-based contemporary chamber ensemble’s upcoming performance at REDCAT will feature core players Eric Clark (violin), Vicki Ray (piano) and Amy Knoles (percussion), joined by Jim Sullivan (clarinet) and Peter Jackson (cello). The group premieres “Wanderer” by Canadian composer Linda Catlin Smith (commissioned by the Unit), the multimedia work Forecast by Canadian Linda Bouchard, and the haunting “Moonsick” by Dublin-based Linda Buckley.
Others songs include After Forgetting, a new work by Keeril Makan (also commissioned by the Unit) and Daniel Salecich’s Generator (urban speed time-out).
The Claifornia E.A.R. Unit’s The Lindas performs on Oct. 10 at REDCAT with curtain at 8:30 pm. Seating is general admission and tickets are $20 (with student discounts available).
