After giving birth to octuplets, Nadia Sulaiman quickly became the darling of tabloids, youtube, and google. The media was flooded with interviews and exposes on the obsessively excessive mother. She was a late night punchline and parodied to the point of exhaustion. But did she ever think she would be the subject of a musical?

“Come on,” jokes writer/director/producer/star Chris Voltaire. “I immediately thought, I have to comment on this through a musical. Everyone who hears about it goes, ‘yeah, of course!’”

Maybe the decision to satirize through song isn’t quite so apparent to all, but with biting wit, catchy tunes and, of course, a lot of press, Voltaire’s new “pop culture” musical opening this weekend is sure to draw a crowd.
